in PLA, after one washing experience, red turns orange and is much deformed
PLA from 123-3d.nl
Woa, thanks for sharing your experience with PLA!
surprisingly, after the first deformation, in the subsequent runs of the dishwasher the baskets stayed relatively stable.
The "upside down" solution (or pro-tip ;-) was the most deformed.
I now have one PETG basket, that should get a run in the next few days. I have some hope that it will remain a bit more stable, but I doubt it could stand the upside down placement with knives on top...
Okay it's a little unclear in my picture. Especially as I don't do it myself. The pro tip was supposed to be a tray with large holes, where you put your cutlery in handle first and thus separate them.
At least now I know how it could deform that much.
PETG should be fine as it is stable up to 90°C, similar to ABS.
Ah, that wasn't clear to me from the picture ;-)
But in that case, I'd want it to stay high up in the basket, so perhaps with some struts to the side to prevent it from dropping in?
or like this http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:52271
'Pro Tip: Turn it around and make it a little heigher and with bigger honeycombs so every piece of cuttlery has its own place.'
Or in other words: make the inlay as high as your basket is.
can I send you a slightly modified version with struts?
(I'm quite new to thingiverse... Shoudl I just create a remix upload?)
Yes I suppose a remix would be the best idea.
OK, here it is.... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2025284
possible enhancements could be to have struts on different positions or sides
