So the basic print is the same, except instead of using the LED matrix display I used a small OLED module. I added couple layers of ND filter in front to make it look more CRT like and hide the edges of the OLED (slightly smaller than needed).
The micro controller is an ESP8266 so it gets the time and date over wifi using NTP (no setting needed!).
Printed on an M3D printer with cheap eBay PLA at fairly low resolution.
The M3D software doesn't give you real values for settings so it's hard to know how it compares with more featured printer software or what the actual resolution was.
