4-8-8-4 Big Boy Locomotive
Made by Benoff, uploadedDescription
Work in progress, to get an tender soon. Thanks a lot for drawing the BigBoy, now I am able to make one in my favourite scale.
My BigBoy was scaled down to 1:20,3 or F-Scale to fit with my other (bought) Locos.
This was my first project on my first 3D printer, so there were quite some things I had to learn while printing parts for that locomotive.

OK, I am into model Railroading, What is the inside rail to inside rail measurement of 'F' scale? I'm building in O gauge. (scale Big Boy w tender is 35+1/8 inch length and 20 lbs in Die Cast working engine) Tho I have one Train in G and I would like to scale this one to that track but it is going to be huge tho smaller than the model here.

I'm modeling Fn3 on 45mm gauge with the intent to build a couple of SG models for static display...
Thanks, Checking the NMRA site for comparison, I got the difference in the gauges. I know a couple "scales" are run on G track depending on Standard or Narrow gauge prototypes. F Gauge inside rail width is 2.781 to 2.842 while G is 1.766 to 1.782. Doing the math it looks like 63.26% will do the job. My Printer is in the middle of a 2 day job but I will get started soon.
