This make is a combination of these two wonderful creations - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1164957 -and- https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:649284. The photos do not do it justice, but it looks wonderful.
After printing, I painted the cracks in the plate with a thinned black/brown paint to add depth. I also painted the contacts gold to help simulate the brass contacts of a real knife switch. The handle/arm assembly was put together with E6000 cement. Finally, the nubbin is a loose fit on my switch, so I secured it with a dab of Duco Cement. I may have trouble removing it later, but ....
This was printed in three different colors - brown for the plate; silver for the contact arms; and black for the braces. I did have to enable [Supports Everywhere] for the nubbin, which I used from the Multi-Material version. I printed in laying on it's side so that the layer lines would be going across the length, giving it better structural integrity than if the layers were oriented across from left to right. I also had to enable [Rafts] on the plate so that the built-in support structures would be printed without breaking away from the build plate.
