Somewhat new to this but getting hooked. Have printed a few dozen test pieces and everything with straight geometric lines look fantastic. Cubes, cylinders...everything except organic shapes. Got through initial optimization then started downloading items from Thingiverse. Some printed fantastic, some very poorly (mostly missing "outer shells"). So I started with lots of calibration tests and optimized accordingly. Very proud of my retraction settings...so I try another "organic" print and it fails again. I looked for the simplest organic shape test and found this one. As you can see the rectangle part prints absolutely fine (looks better in person) but fails miserably on the organic knobby part. I'm watching the print head and it's as it just doesn't print the outer shell. It's making the moves, but only printing the infill. This happens on any organic shape...it's as if the outside walls are not printing.
I know it's not the printer as the test objects included on the sample SD card look perfect. The elephant and recliner chair come out great, so I know the printer is capable. It must be down to the settings I'm using in CURA.
Please, if anyone can help or offer suggestions. I'm searching tirelessly and cannot find others with this issue. My searches for "missing outer shell" or "not printing walls" are not helping me.
