I printed a number of these for my daughter's 9th birthday and they were a big hit. Very easy to print and fun to use.
That looks great! How did you get the stripes???
I completed two filament changes while printing. I used some translucent red for 65% of the print, changed to black for 10% and then did the remaining in the red again. This was all done horizontally. So depending on the iteration of the cube, you'll either get horizontal or vertical stripes. I discovered this completely by accident, but it does add a nice flare to the cube. Thank you for your design.
This is hurting my brain :) I'm having a hard time picturing a print orientation that will still work (without fusing the cubes) and give the results pictured with only 2 filament changes. Did you modify the model, or just the orientation? Love the result, just can't picture in my head an approach that will work!
I've added an additional picture to show you how I layered the colors.
Ah! Thank you! Seems obvious now - but I just couldn't "see" it without the pic! Thanks again. Definitely a cool and unexpected result!
Yes, it definitely added an extra flare to your already great design... TY!
