It is also known as "Escher's solid" (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/EschersSolid.html; http://www.georgehart.com/virtual-polyhedra/escher.html).
The version of the star in my memory was bigger and not sharp-edged. Because of the sharp edges, I wouldn't let a child play with it alone or if, then sand the edges. :)
