Man this print put me through hell haha. I’m on day 5 of owning a 3D printer and I thought this print would be a good place to start to benchmark my printer for tiny prints. I took me two days worth of trying but I finally got a beautiful little print. Egg went smooth on second try. But I found the jet to be a lot herd harder. It would print nicely but the wings would always be fused. So I went OCD and tried like 15 times until I finally got functioning wings. Had to slow the print big time for the jet. This print took about 9 hours for me.
Biggest thing that helped me during this print was turning my jerk/acceleration settings way down for the jet. My nozzle was moving back and forth so fast on the tiny wings that it was causing the overhang to start curling upwards. Which would then lead to the gear fusing together. So I spent forever making the print nice and slow with lots of cooling and that seemed to work. Later I realized that adjusting my horizontal expansion probably would have fixed the gears fusing without making it super slow. Anywho! Totally recommend this print for pushing yourself and printer to the limit of creating small items. Once you perfect this print, save your settings!! Haha
