One of my favorite game overlays and a must if you play Terraforming Mars.
Looking good! Lemme know how those small "legs" work on the energy to heat. I'm worried they are too thin
I check and I have no issues to report. Everything is solid, solid enough for me to hold the inlay by those ends if I wanted to. Good job
On another note, have you thought about engraving the numbers instead of using bevel? Sorry I'm not familiar with all the terms.
Good to hear, I did think of making them engraved at first, but in doing so I would have made the bottom inside of the numbers incredibly thin (because I was trying to keep the whole piece small) or I would have needed to make the cube slots taller. Neither seemed to be a good solution so I just raised the numbers.
Ah, good point!
Would you consider inverting the depth of the cube slot with the height of the embossed numbering? Would that eliminate the thinning should you engrave them using the current model?
I'm only asking because when the cubes are in certain slots, they cannot stay level due to the numbers. A "3" or "5" works great, but a "1", less so.
If I'm visualizing it correctly, I'd still be left with very thin amount of plastic underneath the engraved numbers.
The laying of the cubes does not lay flat on a couple of the numbers, but all in all I was only making the model to stop basic bumping and knocking from ruining your economy tracking. Which the model as-is does.
The model does still import nicely into Sketchup I believe. It would be relatively easy I think to raise up the top skin of the model to allow the cubes to have more of a retaining wall. Go nuts!
Actually sir, I believe I will trust your experience here. I'm actually very content (which is why 5 have been made in total). It is still for me the best model out there.
The family is loving the improvement greatly.
I'm very glad to hear that! My own have gotten plenty of use. And thank you by the way, I appreciate that!
