The model isn't manifold, so I tried repairing it....still couldn't get the base to show up in Slic3r, so I just added another one I found here.

You beat me to painting it! Cool! I don't know what you mean by the model not being manifold. I made this using meshmixer, saved it as an stl, sliced it in Cura, printed on an ender 3, and never had an issue with any version of it. What am I not understanding that I can fix for next time? By the way, did you see version 3, which is more terrible and is eating a fairy?
I like the v3, but I like the first one best. I've added two images of the base issue. I'm not sure what you could do. I tried repairing it, but it just didn't show up. I just added another base to it. It's not a big deal, probably a hole or inverted face or something.
Thanks. I've run 6 of them now, never saw that. Any chance it was aligned low to your work space?
No, it appears to have come from the original model. I've never had a time I can think of where Slic3r dropped a part below Z0. I set my file, yours and the original all in the same space (I added images above). The hole is the same except where I replaced the base. Again, it does happen and different slicer softwares auto-fix holes differently.
Thank you for explaining.
