Filament extruder

Update 18.03.2015:
After One year of idleness, I recently began optimizing my Extruder.
Becaus this is going to be my Bachelor thesis, the upcoming information will be quite extensive, so stay tuned!
I am making simulations and calculations of heat dispersion, flow, pressure for further improvements. I will also make a Melt Flow Index Analysis to determin how the polymer is degradating.
I hope to collect enough process data for other people who are making their own filament to be helpful, since extrusion is actually no simple process.
31.1.2014:
My remix of the Filament Extruder from Bender24601. Its not yet completly functional but I expect to finish it this weekend.
It works with a Nema 34 Stepper Motor (And a 20:1 Gearbox after this weekend) from Portescap and two heating bands with 240 Watts each. Instead of an auger I use an extrusion screw with 400 x 20 mm.
For the futur I intend to upload more fotos and of course the construction plans including bill of materials.
Hi, I would like to know where did you found your extrusion screw please.
The Screw is from the Company Schwingel/Eurostel. Gladly it was a gift because otherwise it would have cost me about 1000€. But this is basicly the only special part.
Looks a little overkill from the other filament extruders out there, otherwise it Looks Great! Is most of it propriotary parts or custom built?
Except from the extruders housing everything is propriotary. The extrusion screw was a gift from a company so I had to build everything around it ;). Thats why its so big. I added a 20:1 Gearbox to it which is not in the pictures because the stepper motor was not strong enough.
