Description

My build of the Tiny 2-axis CNC Robot. Printed all of the parts using my PrintrBot Simple. The 2 big parts (the X-track and Y-track) would not fit. So, I used netfabb.basic to split it into two. Once printed, I joined them together using some super-glue. Just needed to file some parts to get a smooth-fit. Nice design. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! I'm really happy to hear that you were able to print it on your PrintrBot Simple! Did you just split the two big pieces exactly in half? If so, I could update the files with a "half size" option.

Also, have you tried the 0.29 version? It has a working Z-axis.

Yes, I used netfabb.basic for the split. Found a good spot right around the middle and then cut it. I then saved the two halves as separate STL files and printed them out. I then put them together with Loctite superglue, and that was it. The PLA seems to stick well with the superglue. However, if anything could be updated in the design, that would help getting it printed on a smaller 3D printer (like the PB simple), that would be much appreciated.

Yes, I actually started to print the v29 3-axis version, but had trouble getting some of the parts printed correctly. It appears that in the part design for v29, the part thickness has been thinned out, so some parts (for, e.g, the x-stage) did not print out well on my PB Simple. It printed it, but they appeared to be pretty weak. Ironically, the two big parts (the X-track and Y-track), came out fine (I had to split them of course). I will retry printing the parts that I need to complete the v29 and upload it to Thingiverse.
