Resin print of your tormentor. It feels amazing and super glad my printer was able to pull off so many sharp edges!
This looks great. How did you orient for supports?
Did you size it up to fit the minis in the war machine? If so, how big did you make the model?
I used "Sidscale" from printable scenary to help me visually scale it in the slicing software and using 28 mm scale. I ended up sizing it up 1200%. Minis can fit in the back easily. Front may be a squeeze just due to their bases but if you're okay "resting" the mini on top like laying back they could lay on the front.
This looks amazing! It looks heavy, probably because the paint job make it look like real steel! Great job!
Thank you :) Amazing job designing it. It is actually pretty heavy cause I didn't hollow it so its solid resin and very dense. It feels really nice in my hand tho - I'm gonna touch up the paint when I get additional time to add more detail.
My favorite thing about it are all the spikes! My machine was able to print them all so its actually pretty spiky and you need to hold it carefully. But it really adds to the hellish feel
Woah, solid resin? That's awesome!
May I ask how you painted it? I'm not great at painting metal, and you've got a great effect there!
For sure. I'm happy to report this actually takes about 10 minutes of effort thanks to 2 products.
I purchased Army painter spray primer in "plate mail metal". I did like 2 passes completely with the spray primer.
Then I just used Army Painter Quickshade in "strong tone" (the one in the tin) and applied liberally with a good sized brush I didn't care about. Had a small bit of mineral spirits to thin/spread it more evenly anywhere it pooled that I didn't like.
Finished effect is what you see in the image. It looks great due to your design :) All the paint/wash did was allow the details to be easy to see.
