This thing is awesome!
I was wondering what type of hotend did you use on your wade extruder body from the Prusa i3 Rework?
I originally used a jhead off of eBay. I have since switched to a e3d v6 hotend that I run as a Bowden setup with the airtripper extruder. I now get higher quality and much faster prints.
Did the e3d v6 fit the wade extruder body?
Yes. It fits the same as a jhead.
Hey nice build. How big is you print size?
8" x 8" x 8" or 200mm x 200mm x 200mm
Thing is, I just finished building this Rework version without any mods and I am more like 18x18 (x/y).
On maximum X the print head stepper is limited by the endstop. This costs me 1-2 cm.
On the minimum X the tip of the hotend is 2cm off the heat bed.
On the Y min and max I am also limited be the endstop in the front and the timing belt bearing holder. This costs me again ca. 3cm in sum.
Any ideas of what I could have done wrong?
not sure without seeing a picture of it.
Pretty difficult to make good photos:)https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114033482242190467822/albums/6147638759962769793
Have a look please.
For the x axis, you need to put the endstop on the other side. Here is a picture of mine. http://i.imgur.com/sxuNeez.jpg
For the Y axis, you need to adjust the frame so that you have enough room in the front to reach the edge of the platform. By elongating the frame towards the front, you eliminate the binding that is happening when the platform is still over the build surface. Then in the back you need to move the endstop back so that you can reach the other edge. Here is a picture of mine. http://i.imgur.com/oFuOrta.jpg
Ahhhh very nice. Now it this makes really sense. Thanks a bunch ! Cheers!
Did you just order a kit or did handpick all the parts?
I sourced most of my parts from ebay. I was able to get the steppers for free. I also got a few random parts from makerfarm.com. I have a list of parts here:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OjLNdFzwowMycBh03-m1qqH_lfxmG6-t3wp6kuJYjFo/edit?usp=sharing
This list is not up to date but should get you close.
Nice, Thanks man :)
