i used two coats of 2K Carpaintfiller. (superfast 2K poliurethane.. comes in spraycan, and dries out though thick coats..)
This stuff can add up to 2mm of coat thickness.. so printlines vanish pretty fast. but it can eat your details. first overall sanding (180-240grit).
For glueing parts a thick epoxy paste was used..
Dont wait too long with sanding.. the filler keeps getting harder for some time.. it gets more difficult to sand. big drips can be cut of with a knive when it gets leather-hard..
I went on to sand it with 320grit and 500grit. (depending on quality of your sanding paper you need to use water for sanding)
i should have put more effort in sanding..
After the sanding.. get the dust off. (dont breathe this)
Generally important for Paintjobs:
NEVER mix matte with glossy paints/varnish. also dont mix with cheap acrylic paint.
Make shure no Oilspray-myst (like WD40 or PTFE spray) has been in the same room... this can severly lower the quality of your paintcoats.
For best metallic effect adding about 2-3 as-light-as-possible coats of your chrome or silver(this makes shure the reflecting microparticles in the paint will lay flat on the surface.. they wont if you ad thick coats.
after that tint everything with a translucent ink colour.
For the intense glossyness i used a 2K glossy varnish spraycan. here i work with thick coats.. just to the point before it starts forming drips.
about 2-3 layers. again the 2K is superfast.. so wait 5-10min per layer.
But Attention.. if you spray glossy varnish over a metallic effect paint it will get dull and ugly.
the realy hard 2K finish can be polished if thick enough. mine is just as it came out.. depends on the dust level in your painting area.
wait for atleast 24h before touching... :)
