After spending much of my free time over the past year and a half, I've gotten an intuitive feel for the 3D printing process. Specifically, I really know what my printer will actually output given the settings of the slicer. It's a bit of a steep learning curve just getting good prints of proven models let alone going from a blank modeling window to a solid object in real life, but it's well worth it to be able to make an idea in your head into a tangible, usable object in the same day.
