So, I had a problem with the extruder not heating up. After some trouble shooting and reading lots of posts, I contacted ZYX and they had me send the extruder head and main board in. It took awhile, but got them back today.

The problem is, as hard as I try, I can't get the extruder to seat in the holder. Watched a Youtube video twice, but mine won't go back in.

Is there a trick to get it back in?

I have contacted the support via tickets 3 times.

1st one was a brand new cartridge that was standing at 0 when i recieved it. They wanted to know about the dealer, i told then who, and the dealer sent me a new role for free.

2nd one was about the x-axis that was getting loose, like the guiding rod in one side of my davinci mini was getting smaller than the bearing it was sliding in. They told me it was impossible. And i told them it wasnt, and they didnt want to do more about it, other than sent me vids about adjusting the axis. So i made a simple fix with some elastic bands. Sounds stupid, but it works great!

3rd one is active right now, the tube connector by the spool feeder has broken, the locking teeth has come loose or fallen out, so the tube wont lock, and then i cant print, because the pressure in the tube is to low, so instead of pressing plastic into the extruder, its just pushing out on top of the feeder. They have accepted to sent med 2 new ones on warranty. I just need to fill out an RMA form, and i have. But their ticketing system must be down, because every time i try to sent a message, it says "Submit fail"

And thats where i am now :)
They are faster on their ticketing system, than on eg. facebook. Thats what ive learned.

there is filament stuck in the extruder it sounds like to me. if not then it is not hot enough. if the table is not perfectly level it will do this also for the first few layers that is what probably happened and so relevel the bed perfectly clean out the extruder i run the change filament and heat it then stick a wire though while it's hot to clear all the old pla out. should be fine after that. if the extruder is too low it wont allow it to print this will result in clicking sound also. but really it is not level or it would not have this issue for the first 3 layers and quit clicking for the rest. this may help for future prints i use this and some jb80 or silicone spray into the sponge you put in this oiler and pass all your filament through it for way nicer prints and no more clogs jams sticking or clicking crap it clears up most.

Hm, that's exactly what the same problem with my da Vinci, 10-20 mm layer height reached and no filament is coming through the extruder...

You only replaced the PTFE-Tube, nothing else? Is it right that the tube is only plugged in?
So it should be easy to replace it?

Yep. The heatbreak consists of 3 parts: the "radiator" (if that is the right translation - that thing with the cooling fins), the "throat" and in this case also a PTFE-tube (inside the throat). What I observed was a print starting -in most cases - quite well but then stopping extrusion. It seemed that while retracting some filament gathered in the gap (caused by the damaged PTFE-tube) and cooled down preventing any further movement of the filament and thus clicking sounds.
I had to take the whole printhead apart more than a dozen times to figure out what the problem was. After replacing the PTFE-tube everything was fine.

Does the problem also occur on loading filament?
Have you cleaned the nozzle?
I had under- and no-extrusion problems beacuse of a damaged PTFE-tube inside the heatbreak, causing filament to get stuck inside the cooler parts of the heatbreak.

Hi @ll,

my Da Vinci pro 1.0 has strange problems.

First i got the tic-tic-sound only for the first 1-3 layers, but now it's permantley and PLA isn't extruding.

I tried the tipps from ChatToBrian, and lowered the extrusionspeed from 100 to 98 and 95...
changing those values don't seem to have any effect to my printer.

On PLA i use the xyzmakerpro-setting and changed nothing...
so what could that be?

i never bothered with the cart dummy, i just cut down an old cart so it missed the spool i have hanging in the back of the printer and soldered some wires to the chip so i dont need to remove it to flash the chip, then weighted it down with lot of hot melt glue (helps to seal the chip and stop shorts ) then put a big lump of steel on top to hold it in place, it works well for the majority of the time but every now and them it jumps and causes a cart error. so its getting changed again soon and ill be changing over to ramps 1.4 control instead of the crap davinci board and firmware.
