jmidjettesr asked me to help him creating this key chain for AutoMax sales team in Morgantown (Sabraton), So, here it is. It uses the same options like the original http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:739573. Of cause there is no custom text and also no font settings.

For full color print, change filament at 2.4, 3.0, 3.6 and 4.2.
Start with white, change after layer at 2.4mm to yellow, after 3.0mm to red, after 3.6mm to black and after 4.2mm to light blue. If you want to have silver/gray rim use acrylic art paint to color them.

I liked to see some text label on my Filament Box, so I made this tags. The Font I used is "Rubik One".

The Font is part of the Google Font collection.and designed from Philipp Hubert and Sebastian Fischer. You can find more information of their work at Hubert and Fischer.

The IKEA SAMLA Boxes (22 l / 6 gallon) is the ideal storage solution for my needs. The profiled wall design makes it very stable. It can hold up to 5x 750g standard spools and I can put Silica gel inside. The IKEA SAMLA boxes should be available in many countries in the world.

By mounting an installations tube in the box, I can feed the filament direct from the box to my printer. That's very convenient!

My spool have all about 20 cm / 8 inch diameter but there is some space left to the wall, so 21.5 cm / 8.5 inch should also fit fine.

It is fast and easy to print. It is very easy to assemble. A drilling jig is also included.

The STL files are for M4 screw and nuts, but as it is customizable you can configure it also for inch parts, other tube/pipe or boxes.

I recommend also this things:

• Spacer to hold the spools apart (I'm using simple_spacer_32x5.stl and simple_spacer_32x10.stl )
• the Spool Adapter for perfect fitting of different spools
• a Filament Clip

For sealing your boxes, you may find this things useful to control humidity:

Create your individual name or tag keychain. More than 700 different high-definition Fonts, many options and easy multicolor
printing, gives you a great playground.

Please don't be confused about the many options in Customizer! Simply enter your text and select your favorite font, that is all you need to do.

This keychain is perfect as small gift or giveaway, ideal for first prints and demonstration (especially on multicolor). This keychain is easy to personalize, easy and fast to print and gives always great results with default settings.

I am using 32mm /1.25inch tubes to hold my filament spools. I got some spools with 53mm/2inch inner diameter. With this hub adapter they fit perfect.

There are some filament spool hub adapters but I can't find one to simply plug into the filament spool having the right size.

So I made this Universal Spool Hub Adapter for the Customizer. You can not only change the dimensions, you can also define or remove the collar or chamfer if you want. There is automaticly a 1mm backlash added to the inner diameter to make it easy rotating on the axle/tube (Advanced Settings). On the outer diameter is also an extra mm added to fit it tight on the spool (I called it "Arm Compression" in the Customizer).

I have uploaded the 25mm version for the original Prusa i3 HEPHESTOS holder. Many thanks to Runkel for making and testing it. After seeing fcartegnie clever parametrized remix I have added three new versions of the 25mm adapter with only 4 arms.

There seems to be a rendering problem inside the Customizer, I can't find the reason. But the resulting STL files are perfect.

This small handle gives each Allen or Inbus key a better grip. And the different color makes it easier to distinguish the different sizes.

I have added the standard inch and metric hex key files.

If you need other sized handles use the customizer here and set the "Bottom Thickness" to 0.

I have extended the original Prusa i3 Hephestos spool holder with a 32mm installation tube. I use this spacer to hold the filament spools apart, so they can't touch each other while printing.

You can easy create your own spacer with the Customizer. The Customizer creates one STL file for the spacer and one text only file if you want to use dual extrusion. Please don't forget to add some backlash to the inner diameter when customizing, otherwise the spacer will fit to tight!

The spacer on the first image are colored accordingly to the electronic color code.

Multiple line key chain or plate. Crossed out or not.

This thing is multicolor by only changing the filament during printing, no dual extrusion is necessary. Please read the instructions. Of cause you can also print it monochrome.

Simply open it in Customizer and enter your own text.

In addition you need:

4x M3x35 screws
8x M3 nuts

Please refer image 2 how to tighten the nuts.

If you got problems getting the knob in place, simply heat up the nuts a bit (about 60-80 °C / 140-175 °F for PLA) and it easily slips in place.

You can use a hex screw or insert a hex nut and tighten a normal screw against it.

OK, the tensioner knob is not really necessary - it is more an esthetically aspect for me (look at image 2 and you know what I mean). But I promise you: you will never need a tool to adjust the tension on the x-axis anymore.

The Customizer automatically creates different shapes, it took the "m6_tensioner_knob_rounded" one.

If you got problems getting the knob in place, simply heat up the nuts a bit (about 60-80 °C / 140-175 °F for PLA) and it easily slips in place.

Nut knobs are useful for many purposes in DIY projects.

All the different knobs in the gallery are made with this Customizer.

I have added some sample knobs for M3 nuts as there are most common used size for 3d printer.
The screwdriver handle for standard 1/4" hex bits is surely a unusual application, but it works great. Especially if you need a extra small one for your project.

Protects your tape from dust and being damaged.

This caps fits perfect to Blue Tapes. For other tapes you might simply adjust the parameters in Customizer.

Why not branding it with your name, school, shop, homepage or something else.

A separate text file for dual extrusion is also available but not necessary if you use single extrusion.

If you are looking for a sample code for Customizer or OpenSCAD, it may be worth looking at the SCAD file. It is fully customizable but also pretty simple!

I am using AeroPress for my coffee and this is exactly the quantity of coffee beans I need for a big cup delicious coffee.

I adjust the volume to 90% (listet in Special tab) as I am always taking a heaped spoon of beans.

Universal measuring spoon/scoop with one or two ends.

Chris from Homebrew Finds made a nice post bout using my Customizable Measuring Cup/Scoop as 3D Printed 6ml Measuring Cup for Measuring Star San. In this article he ask for a two ended measuring spoon - so here it is.

In the Customer you have the following units available:

I have newly added a Customizable Key Chain "Words from the Heart".

I was thinking about a Spaceship Earth style jar since I made my first container.

I have no lid files included, this project holds only the jar files. You can find the corresponding caps here.

I have printed it with transparent PLA filament like the other containers. I like the non-glossy surface, it looks like of frosted glass.

If you open this thing in the Customizer you can not only build your own size of the container. You have also parameters to change the jar surface. See the two examples dimples_style_40.stl and cubes_style_40.stl for the possibility creating new interesting container surfaces.

It is a common problem that ne Customizer developer use the wrong upload invalid code and wondering whats wrong. This thing is for you.

This thing itself writes the OpenSCAD version on a key chain, which you should always remember to use the correct version of OpenSCAD when writing code for the Customizer.

2015-03-20: The Makerbot team has updated their OpenSCAD Installation to Version 2015.03 as you can see here! This may cause compatiblity issues of older SCAD models, so you may check your customizable things!

For developing a customizable things, it is best practice to use the same version on your developing PC as the Customer uses. You can download it from the official homepage:

Customizer

You can choose between a simple tag or a key chain.

I needed a prettier container for a gift.

As I already have a well working and nice cap. I only make this new jar. You will find the lid here: Container with Knurled Lid.

The new design does not only look good. It improves the container noticeable. You get about twice the volume with same amont of fillament compared with my first container with same stability. So it is ideal for bigger boxes.

Print both and try it yourself.

12 pillar set for Märklin H0 C track up to 78mm (about 3 inches).

78mm should be enough for a second crossing below. Please check it before, especially for trains with current collectors.

UPDATE V2: now customizable. Now each pillar is numbered and labeled so it is easy to distinguish them.

Please note the pillars are angled on the track bed for a better stand. Put one pillar in between each track segment. Be sure you assemble them correct and it has a stable stand.

This are the same containers than this thing rendered in expert mode as solid body, this economize filament usage and improves print quality to get perfect containers. I have used normal transparent PLA no special t-glase, see image 2 - 4 how transparent they are.

Print the lid from here as usual.

You my use the Customizer here with expert setting to create your on format, it is nearly full parametrized.

I needed a headset hook for my shelf - so why not simply printing one...

Looking on Thingivers I found some more or less simple shelf hooks. But I wanted a more eye catching one, like Tosh Headphone holder.

I have used the Impallari fonts Dosis and Lobster to generate the Text with Inkscape and extruded it with OpenSCAD.

As this thing mainly benefits from the used fonts, which are released under Open Font License. So I am releasing this thing now under GPL license. Many thanks for the great work!

Update Version 1.1: new parameter for wedge, bugfixes regarding OpenSCAD version of Customizer

Why using universal measuring cup, when you can print one for your requirements. I am using it for washing powder and suchlike.

measuring cups for 10 - 150ml and 1/4 - 5 fl oz (US and Imperial) already generated. Or open it in the Customizer and generate your own measuring cup.

The default wall thickness is 1mm. That is ok up to about 100ml for larger cups please use more wall thickness.

The Creator is such a cool App. As a example, I have created a ball bearing storage.

A ball bearing 624 has a diameter of 13mm and thickness of 5mm. So giving the container a diameter of 13.5mm and a height of 51mm, should be enough for storing 10 bearings. To get a flat bottom I set the inside chamfer to 0.0.

I choose a wall thickness of 1.5 and a backlash of 0.3.

Containers are so useful - I got a lot of them. Here is my container with a knurled lid and cylindrical jar.

Use the Customizer to create a proper container for your needs, it is fully parameterized.

The User jonaslorander implemented a new option to divide the jar into compartments. Many thanks to him for providing the code and making it! I like it very much!
