DecapiCat tends to loose his head all the time.
But we don't judge DecapiCat for it's behaviour.
DecapiCat is also a cat.

This is a response to the corrupt Cat.gcode that is preloaded on the SD-card for the Creality Cr10 printers. I used meshmixer to move the head to its paw.

To get the detail well, scale it to at least 130%

It does require some support under the tongue and the lowest part of he head.
Attached my support settings but they are by no means the best settings.

(Just the stand part, I already had the clip part that actually holds the mic.)

Designed to build without supports. The fitting isn't threaded, just slightly tapered - my mic holder just sits on top (pictured) and can swivel.

Two "platter" files are supplied which have everything pre-plated neatly for the Tripod or Quinpod versions, but all parts are supplied separately as well. OpenSCAD file also provided, so customize/hack away.

The "Socks" are not completely necessary, but they stop the stand rocking on uneven surfaces. (You're the only one supposed to be rockin' the mic.)

I've only printed the tripod version, so the qinpod version is "experimental" - i'll make it next once/if the tripod breaks. I think it looks more pro, but the print time is longer, and I needed one fast.

If you also need a mic holder to go on top, this one looks mostly compatible, depending on your mic's shape: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:145635

WiFi Eye of Agomotto

This is the case for the WiFi Eye electronics project that I'll soon be publishing on All About Circuits.

Print the "Core", "Middle Plate" and a pair of "Eye Lids" first if you are building the electronics, so you can be busy while the big amulet body prints.

The "Amulet" and "Crossbeams" are the only pieces that definitely need support - The crossbeams are quite thin and you may need to experiment to get them right. Once cleaned up, glue it a few "spokes" at a time to the amulet face with epoxy or CA.

The amulet needs supports for the pockets underneath that hold electronics components. These will be rough, but hidden.

The crossbeams look much, much better when they "float" over the amulet face (and let light through the gaps) rather than being solidly connected to it. And removing supports from a separate piece is far easier than getting them out of the middle.

The "Woggles" slip over the ends of the necklace cord (I used shoelaces) to make it look nicer where they tie to the amulet. The curved part is meant to fit over the amulet lops.

The stand has a build support pre-baked-in, which you should cut away carefully afterwards with diagonal cutters... a slightly ratty and uneven edge works well for "feathers", just be careful not to split the piece along layer lines.

More to come...

Since it is so popular in the community I decided to make a better version for you guy. Print with lots of supports and make sure to do a raft. Be careful when removing from the bed as the model is not put together very well and legs and face may just fall off completely. Just use some JB WELD or Super Glue to put it back together.

This is a free model so don't try and sell it to get filthy rich because it took my a long time to make. At least 5 min and that's a life time when you have really bad adhd like me and just ate a bunch if riddlin.

Please share your prints. This could be the next big thing 3D printing has been waiting for. A real benchy.

This is a block version of Georgie! I whipped it up on tinkercad and was inspired by the #3dblockzoo trend SparkyFace5 created! I included two types of files, one is the entire Georgie, which can be printed as one piece, the other is a raw version that includes the parts of Georgie (such as wing tail beak etc.) so that you can catch Georgie's real colors :) I haven't personally printed any yet, due to my 3d printers all being broken, but I will update once I do have them printed! I appreciate any feedback, and as always, stay juicy as the moose!

Thieves' Purse- a game for building spatial visualization and Chinese reading skills.

The Game:
Without looking, players have to pick the correct "coins" out of a bag by feeling for the shape of the characters. Play begins with two coins. More coins are added each round. The coins represent eighteen of the highest frequency characters in Chinese.

Background:
When I first started to use some simple CAD software, I found working in 3D space very difficult. After doing a little research it came up that gender may play a role in spatial skills. Whether or not this is true we do know that these skills can be trained and improved upon:
http://www.parentingscience.com/spatial-intelligence.html

Since some little girls may not be inclined (for whatever reason) towards Lego or building block type toys I decided to look into a ways a spatial element could be piggybacked on the sort of activities they were already doing. For me as a child that was puzzles and memory games so that is where I am starting.

This game is my first attempt, it requires the player have a strong mental image, and be able to rotate that image in their mind. It's more an idea I am playing with than a finished project, I hope others are able to build upon and improve it. It is obviously suitable for both boys and girls of all ages, but I think due to the lack of other play incorporating spatial visualization it may be more helpful to girls.

All children love a good story, and a well told story makes a game that much more engaging. So here is the story of the origin of Thieves’ Purse: http://sexycyborg.net/Ban_Ji_and_the_Thieves_Purse.html
