THIS DESIGN HAS BEEN MOVED TO YOUMAGINE:
I improved the belt-clip's ergonomics by placing the belt higher.
Making the 1/4 bolt easier to reach and putting the center of gravity lower.
The H4n is a common field audio recorder.
This belt clip keeps your hands free for shooting video without having to hold the recorder
or allow you to mount the recorder on the back of your talent and have him/her/it wear a lavalier or headset while speaking on camera.
Just mount it the way you would "normally" mount an expensive radio-transmitter with an expensive power-injector for the microphone but with much lower cost and no noise/fading due to the radio link.
Use the on-camera sound to synchronize the voice to your video later and get the same effect as if you had used an expensive radio-link to capture the voice of your talent.

So you may make one yourself and improve the design but not sell the design or made parts and always give attribution.
See the movable 3d-images and technical drawings in the PDF for details.
(such as belt-size)
You can use the free Xpress-version or a 30 day trial of Alibre Design to change this parametric design (e.g. for different belt-sizes, countering of stronger or weaker warping,...)
The STL is already oriented to be printed on a Thing-o-Matic.
At the moment my ToM has warping-issues due to a new plastic that I am slowly getting working.
Thus the design contains some carefully placed holes and a wider base to counter warping by design already.
You can still reach all buttons and connectors with this clip (carefully rounded holes to reach the input- and output- level + and - buttons, access to the headphone-jack and even a hole to not obstruct the speaker.)
You can even mount your H4n onto something without taking off the belt-clip first. (Most of these 1/4" camera bolts you get in shops have a 1/4 threading)
