Very cool design, nice work!

Isn't Part 2 supposed to be hollow?

You can make the object hollow using your slicer. Depending on the slicer you have

Batphil - awesome design, just finished printing one!! Quick question, though - are you just gluing the "part3" to the shade?

Hi SystemsGuy
thank you for your interest

a+

I look this website : http://slic3r.org/blog/tip-printing-vaseshttp://slic3r.org/blog/tip-pri...

But did not understand 100%

after put the settings i have to creat a STL file, and after put on Makerware ?
Anyone can help me ?

totally awesome, now I have to make one for my wife too :)

Could someone write up some instructions on how to print this on a Replicator 2? I'm rather perplexed by the seemingly totally solid lamp shade part. I gather I may need to use Slic3r to print it hollow without the bottom or top parts, but I haven't used slic3r before and am not sure what to do, particularly in regard to getting the makerbot to run the gcode files

This link explains it pretty concisely

I'm not familiar with the Replicator software, but I would guess that you could find the equivalent settings somewhere.

As I understand it the Replicator 2 doesn't support gcode files natively - it uses x3d files.

Bluebie , could you do it ?

I have the same doubts as you !

to export code compatible with your printer from slicer, click the "Printer settings" tab at the top of the window, then in the general section of this tab, there is a setting called G-Code flavor, that usually starts out set to "RepRap (Marlin/Sprinter)." All you need to do is select Makerbot from that menu and it should export in the proper format.

I use a leds, like in

Any chance of some build instructions? :-D

How did you put a light bulb in it?

I thought the same...buy a low-cost lamp, take the electronics out and glue them in place?

Amazing! Great design!

Cool Thanks on the list :)
