The nut on my X-Carve is an M6. 10mm across the flat sides.
This design printed too small as the nut opening printed at 9.15 mm across the flat sides which is strange cause that would be loose on an M5 (8mm across the flat sides).
Anyway, I resized it 110% to fit my X-Carve. Came out 10.05mm.
Works great.

I see now that the threaded rod doesn't have the nut at the top, which would make this knob useless. I wonder why the different sized nuts then...

If you are going by the pictures on their website, I don't think those are accurate. There are many differences. For example, the wire chain is horizontal on those and everyone on YouTube has it vertical, including the instructions.

Hmm, that's interesting. Just curious, do you have the Acme rod or threaded rod? I wonder if they use different sized nuts?
The nut on mine measures 9.71mm flat to flat.
The interior space of my knobs area 9.43 so that there is a pressure fit.

I measured mine and I'm the same at 9.72 mm nut so it is an M6.
The print came out with the inside flat to flat at 9.15mm which I could not get to push on. I printed at 10% larger, then 8% larger, both slightly loose but worked fine. 5% larger was perfect tight fit.
I'm not sure its a shrink issue though.
When I brought the original .STL file into Tinkercad is showed that nut opening at around 9.15 mm so I'm not seeing much shrink in my print.

What is that actual dimension in your original file?

Good question. I have the ACME threaded rod. I was using a 10mm wrench until I printed the enlarged version of yours.
According to the instructions, it should be an M6 like you stated but mine is bigger. Unless I assembled something wrong.
The M8 threaded rod doesn't even have a nut per the instructions so even your design won't work there.

I've used my heat gun to heat the inside and I've been able to put it on the ACME rod, it's fitting perfectly.

Any idea what size nut that is? Perhaps M3?

Wondering if it can be used with other things.
