I wanted a shroud for an e3d v5 hot end on a Kossel Mini which would take a 40mm fan. I also wanted to introduce a small part cooling duct. Thanks to Sanjay and Dreadnought426 for the original objects to which I added the part cooling duct.
Version 1 is the original I posted a while back. I found it was a bit tricky to print well in all dimensions.
Version 2 fits the same hotend but is orientated so that it is flat bottomed for no raft/support on the first layers and thickened around the duct to prevent thin areas when printing. It also allows orienting the layers so that they lie longways in the fan shroud area which should allow it to be pushed over the heatsink without snapping or de-laminating. I have also filled in some of the original holes in the fan shroud part to cut down on unnecessary complexity in printing (as these holes are superfluous in this remixed part).
Print in ABS or other heat resistant material.
Print with your preferred layer height (it is a functional part so no use going too low here).
Print with supports to for the overhang in the centre.
Print orientated with the cooling duct at the top.
