Summary
Spool Holder for Rostock MAX v2
I've seen a lot of designs out there, but I couldn't find anything that was perfect for me, so I designed this one. It has three spacers included to align the center of the Spool of Filament perfectly over the exit hole in the top of a Rostock MAX v2 using SeeMeCNC Filaments. Other spools should work just the same as they pretty much all use the same spool dimensions... Usually.
Instructions
The .STL's are VERY highly detailed as I don't like seeing poorly executed .STL exporting!
Items needed:
- 608-ZZ or 608-2Z Bearings x4
- M8 x 1.25 x 190mm Threaded Rod x1
- M8 x 1.25 Nylon-Insert Locknut x1
- M8 Washer x1
The M8 x 1.25 x 190mm Threaded Rod should be a tight push fit into the "Spool Support Arm - Mod RL 2x 608". If not, you can use a glue or bonding agent to secure it.
For 0.5kg spools use the "10.5mm Spacer"
For 1.0kg spools use the "18.7mm Spacer"
For 1.0lbs Taulman spools use the "1.0mm Spacer"
Press fit the "M8 Knob - RL 2x 608" onto the M8 x 1.25 Nylon-Insert Locknut.
Don't forget the M8 Washer before installing the "M8 Knob - RL 2x 608".
Tighten the "M8 Knob - RL 2x 608" up against the M8 Washer until there is no play. Do not over tighten as you want just enough to set the preload in the 608 Bearings.
See Photorealistic Renderings for more details.
Print using either ABS or PLA.
Infill: 50% to 100%
Supports: Where needed.
Enjoy!
