Print with 0.1mm layer height if you dare!

Use 0.5mm extrusion width, or adjust numbers in scad.

can be used to tune your E steps. if they won't fit together, E steps is too high. if they're loose, E steps is too low. They should click together firmly straight off the bed.

For extra points, your pair must able to be taken apart by hand with some effort when empty but become much tighter when you put the bearing in ;)

After using these for several days, I unfortunately ended up removing them. If your printer isn't calibrated perfectly, these guides aren't going to wind up totally round, and as a result, your layers will wind up mis-aligned on very wide layers where the carriage has to move farther.

I had the same problem, mine were bumpy enough that I didn't even bother trying to mount them. I'm sticking with fender washers.

What is the expected benefit of assembling it from two pieces, as compared with a single piece design?

So you can make them without having overhang issues

Printed single piece ones without major overhang issues

(but yes, some STLs on thingiverse require turning them around before printing)

these are specifically clip-on ones that don't require the fender washers to hold it in place.

What you've pictured there is also cool, but slightly different purpose to this :) If I had fender washers, I would probably do it that way.
