This is a set of parts to make a G scale /1/24 scale station canopy, a bench and a station lamp.
The station canopy is based on old British station canopies, and is modular. Parts all have dovetails so that they can be printed separately and then assembled. I assembled mine and glued with acetone.
I added a plastic "slate" roof to mine, but have not painted it for the photo. Looking at the photo I think that perhaps the support pillar should have been slightly further recessed into the station.
The station lamp is designed to use 4mm brass tube and to take a small "pea" bulb to light it.
The height of the lamps is of course, determined by how long you make the tube!
There is also a more modern Octagonal lamp in the 123DX file.
The people in the photo are standard LGB people from the train sets.
The "simple station" STL is not for printing, but helps show how everything comes together
I print with rafts as I find I get better prints. I made the lamp in "transparent" ABS, and although its more translucent than transparent, it does give a better lamp effect than white ABS.
Paint the lamp carefully.
The bench is printed on its back.
The canopy supports are not symmetric, they have a flat back so that they can be printed easily.
The arms fit the support and then hold up the canopy via the canopy_support_section.
The canopy_support_section is the only part I printed with supports. The rest should print without supports.
The "peg" at the bottom of the main pillar should fit a 8mmm hole in the station floor. My station has a floor made from left over bathroom wall tiles.
If possible, arrange the canopy parts for printing so that the little diamond details face inwards. This makes it easier to peel them off the raft afterwards.
When assembling the canopy, a little acetone on the dovetails during FINAL assembly helps as they melt slightly and then smoothly fit, and then weld.
