How I Designed This
The DC connector is a power jack found on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221939865049?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The LED strips are also from Ebay. They can be found in multiple colors to match the color of the lightsaber to be displayed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321842921529?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Here is the power source. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321635171211?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Have not decided if I will put a on/off switch in but should have plenty of space if needed.
The LED should last over 50,000 hours and provide many years of enjoyment. The LED's can be cut every 3 then soldered together +/+ -/-. I did not heat shrink the connections for easy viewing but do recommend. The first one shows what a clean look it can have.

I can't seem to get the riser files. Everytime I open the file only one riser appears. They are all the right-side riser, not the left. I wanted the name plate risers with the logos in them, however the only one I can find is the imperial one, not the jedi. Anyone else have this problem?
Hey! I'm printing Ahsoka's double-lightsaber set, would it be possible to get a version with 2 height-staggered stands? I'm not using the lighted base. If you can provide source files, I can try to remix it.
hi there, great design love it! is it precise enough if i print it at 0.3 mm layer height?
I don't seem to be able to find the imperial riser that has a slot? Not sure if I've just missed it? I can find the rebel and a blank one with a slot in but not the other one? I haven't managed to learn how to alter stl files yet (working on it!)
Can you provide a blank center insert? I'd like to add an imperial cog emblem instead of the star was logo
Thanks for the great stand design!
I think we need an Anakin Skywalker name plate too since he had the blue one Luke used in ANH.
There are a couple more designs out there that I've collected. http://www.thingiverse.com/lowlight/collections/lowlights-lightsabers/page:1
Of course there's others scattered around the internet as well.
can you hook me up with better pictures of what you're using to add light to this? it looks "simple" at least more than just using an arduino to power it.
Here is the Instructable link for more explanation. http://www.instructables.com/id/Lightsaber-Base-LED/
Not using a arduino but can be used to change colors if you get the multi led strips. I bought mine on ebay and provided links on Instructables . com. GL and can't wait to see photos.
Mine all printed out perfectly. I think. Pics will be to come. I noticed on the 2 risers, the emblems are stretched and skewed as if the model was not to the original scale. i dont think I did it so im not sure. Its not enough to make me reprint them tho. Thanks for the model :D
My printer is finally fixed to print at .4mm, it was printing .75 due to last owner not cleaning tip correctly. Because of this I was not able to print the emblem risers properly. Let me know if you notice something so I can adjust. Just had knee surgery so I will be down for a week or so. Can't wait to see what you've made.
