Could you wrap it in foil? As if you were gold leafing it?

Not to encourage cigarette smoking, more to prevent spreading fires and saving all those Makerbots out there from spontaneous combustion when the extraneous butt or joint gets misplaced? Not to imply that there might be drug use among the Makers. ;) Though creativity comes from many sources.

Actually, I could see casting this, which would be pretty freakin' sweet! :D

How can you do this?! If you print it from PLA it could burn, if you print it from ABS poisonous fumes could occure. I mean, really, you could get lung cancer!

;) :-P :-D

I've got a pair of cigar ashtrays that I printed out of PLA and have had no problems with, also uploaded a video to youtube about trying to get PLA to burn...let me tell you, if you manage to get it to burn from a cigarette and not just melt, I'll give you a US quarter, It just isn't an issue unless you are actively setting out to make it burn.

Now ABS on the other hand...THAT stuff will go up like a torch! It stinks, it burns, the only benefit that it has over PLA is that it has alot more fudge factor than PLA.

Hey, it beats burns on the coffee table. :-D

Since noone ever made one of my designs I took them all off. I'll try taking the time to make yours so you don't go through the same thing. Good luck, and have fun designing!

I have been having alot of fun making other people's things and designing replacement parts of broken stuff arround the house and for friends. I have made a door part to a Honda del Sol, some gears for a roomba 4200 series, a analog stick to a Playstation controller (not too sure about the legality of this stuff, so they remain unpublished), and I designed a led light--which i am currently testing. Even if no one makes my designs I think it is okay as long as it is part of an online library of stuff.

So what kind of stuff did you create?
