This thing is a 1:100 scale model of the famous Bailey Bridge of World War 2. It is designed to be as close as possible to the full scale version with compromises for printability and assembly at such a small scale.

This is a challenging thing to print. A standard size nozzle (0.4mm or higher) will struggle with the detail as an extrusion width of .25mm is demanded by some of the pieces.

As with a full scale Bailey Bridge this model can be assembled in a number of variants: Single-Single, Double-Single, Triple-Single, and Triple-Double where the first word describes the number of bridge panels and the second the number of levels of those panels.

Two lengths of bridge are included as STL's with one being of two sections and the other being of three sections. In the full scale world each section is 10 feet long so this represents spans of 20 and 30 feet. These sections can be joined to create a bridge of any length.

Finally, the bridge can be printed and assembled with or without a foot path. There is a road bed with shorter transoms that can be used with a foot path free bridge.

The STL's shown here are for the three section Double-Single bridge. The other variants are provided as ZIP files. The source Sketchup file is also included and has a mount that can be used to display a Double-Single or Triple-Double bridge.

The road, road ramp, road ramp support, and section joiner can all be printed with a normal nozzle and a layer height of .15mm with a normal extrusion width.

The remaining parts need to be printed with an extrusion width of 0.25mm which means a nozzle of 0.30 or smaller. Larger nozzles can have their extrusion width forced to 0.25mm but the results will suffer.

My printers are upgraded with an Olson hot end allowing for under a minute nozzle changes. A game changer for Ultimaker owners!
