Leds still missing, but this is really nice model

Are the pins supposed to hold the pieces together? I printed mine and they are too small :/

this is not a tree so doint say it is nerd

Thanks Larry - I was worried about that - we should also let people know that the Deathstar isn't really dead.... or a star....

Hope you enjoy the model - here's one of Nerd Tea (which sounds like 'nerd tree' so its gotta be closer to what you're looking for) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1411

Nerdy Tea Infuser

I'm trying to put the LEDs together, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to connect everything. What kind of battery is needed for this? How strong should the resistor be?

Any chance someone has a picture detailing the innards of this thing with the lights set up?

Could I bribe you into posting STP (not STL) files of the top, bottom, and trench pieces?

Hi there - sure thing...

I've uploaded an assembly file saved from Solidworks in STP format (STEP AP214). I'm not familiar with STP but it seems to have all parts in one file - if that doesn't work let me know and we can retry...

Hey I really appreciate that! Turns out my CAD program can open SLDPRT files after all, so I used that instead. I have one of those magnetic floating globes at work, I'm gonna make a death star version :)

I printed this out with 2 shells and 0% infill and it turned out quite well! There are some gaps in the top trenches and the top and bottom are a little messy but still works quite well. Thanks for the thing :)

"Some of the trenches overhang a little so it'll need support to print" - how do you remove this support? For my experience this would come out ugly to remove - you will see any scratches...?!
