This is a spinning ring, inspired by AmazingSpanoMan's "Customizable Fidget Spinner Ring".
It's based on my [Christmas Tree Design Ring], but without any design. This is more discreet, can be printed shorter (axial), and can be worn in months other than December.
Sliced with Cura, printed in PLA. My best results came from printing with an 0.1mm resolution, although it can also be printed at 0.2 for fitting samples.
After printing, you'll want to clean up the print a little bit, just enough to make sure there aren't whiskers or bumps on the inner ring, or the inside of the outer ring.
The most challenging part is getting the two parts to snap together without breaking the outside ring. I have had to press the rings together onto a flat surface in some cases.
Small imperfections will be ground away if you press the parts together and spin them after assembly. The ring will spin more freely with use.
I designed the bearing shape as a sketch in 123D Design, and rotated it to make a ring.
After a few iterations to get the basic bearing shape right, I focused on reducing the (radial) thickness of the ring until it was very comfortable to wear.
Bringing the design into OpenSCAD allowed me to make an adjustable design. I modified the parameters exposed in the Customizer to get the bearing as tight as possible, and to generate rings of many sizes with little work.
If you are having trouble getting the rings to stick to the raft, you may need to experiment with "Thinnest Layer" in Advanced Options.
