A friend had a pomegranate deseeder and asked if I could design one for 3D printing. Voila! My dad suggested making two versions, the shorter one taking a few less hours to print, but still fully functional.
If you haven't used one before, you will be amazed at how quickly you can get the seeds out of a pomegranate. There are videos online on how to use it, but basically you cut the pomegranate in half at the equator, make 4 or 5 scores into the outside of the fruit, place the deseeder over a bowl or plate, and then bang on it with a spoon. It flattens the pomegranate and the seeds fall into the bowl.
The scorer works well for cutting into the pomegranate. It also works well on oranges. There are two versions of the scorers, the second version including six scorers.
