A product of mutant biomechanical engineering, the Windshark fighter combines shark DNA with the aerodynamics of a fighter plane. Equally at home in the air or in the water.

A mashup of the fighter plane and reef shark from the Autodesk 123D Gallery, made in Meshmixer.

The full body STL is included if you want to hack it up yourself, but the plate should print well on a Makerbot with full support material.

The Meshmixer file is included too for further editing.

Hrm, this one doesn't seem to be printing quite right.
Using my tried and tested settings, I'm getting a lot of stranding and floating squiggles. I'm printing with full support.

I can see the need to print with support, but it's a little hit and miss for me on my CR-10 so far.
On the verge of cancelling the print and going back to the drawing board.

Of the two files, would you recommend printing the whole plane or the vertical two piece?

looks cool keep up the good work

Do you have the actual model of this plane? i wanted to print it but it has some huge inside walls that make the print ugly on the belly of the plane

I worked from STLs as the source files, so unfortunately I don't have the design file for the plane. I did post the Meshmixer file, so that might help. You might also try loading it and saving it in TInkercad, it has a pretty robust system for converting meshes to solids. You could also try the Autodesk 3D Print Utility: http://apps.123dapp.com/3dprint/install.htmlhttp://apps.123dapp.com/3dprin...

Nice model, and w00t thanks for the heads up on MeshMixer.

Lovely design! What a wonderful cross between plane and shark :)
