Hi there, for the build plate, you used an original ultimaker and then you drilled holes to fit a regular heated bed?

Hi there,

Could you please send me a link to the corner you use on your ultimaker ?

i bought them at motedis

Hi Anders, thank you ! There are so lovely and look more sturdy than printed part !

They are, and they are made for connectiong 2020 profiles in a corner ;)

Hi great job. I printed the "original" clone UM2.
But i burnt my ulticontroller, so do you used the z sensor at bottom and if yes, which firmware do you use ?

Cause i'd like to get my old screen of I3 but i never find a way to custom marlin to be able to print with z sensor at z max position.

thx a lot

thanks. yes i use the z max endstop and i use marlin firmware where i defined the z = 0 location to the z max endstop, if you want i can upload a copy of my marlin firmware

Oh yes thank-you. I will compare with my many tests i'hve done. :)

i have added it as a zip file, Marlin-ultialumaker.zip

What cable chain are you using with this? I want to use your adapters.

it is made by igus, i dont have a link to as i took it out of a machine that was sent to the dumpster, but there is a model number on it, i will write it here later today or tomorrow.

Do you have some of the plans, or materials do i need to build one of this?

it is based on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:811271 where i just didnt use the 3dprinted parts to assemble the frame, where i used cube connectors and angle brackets for 2020 profiles. (bought from motedis ) and instead of the ulticontroler board i used a ramps 1.4 board.

i do not plan on making plans for how to assemble it as i have just made my version of it and share my custom files.
you should look in the original one for at bom of materials, (plus some for this mod) in the future i might ad a list to where i bougt all the parts i used, but i need some cleaning up first.

Ultimaker 2 Aluminum Extrusion 3D printer

I am building a clone also but I purchased a Ultimaker 2 ramps/main board with the oled screen also purchased a custom ultimaker acrylic frame form mine

I like this i bet its cheaper to build with these components

remember that all parts are custom made for how i build the um2 clone printer. like the distance between the 2 lower profiles is not the same as the original and the top corners i use cube connector instead for printed parts.
