This is a work-in-progress; I'm still refining the holes and the offset near the bend.

This is a parametric L-shaped bracket generator for MakeBlock which can generate parts of various sizes, similar to my MakeBlock Parametric Straight Bracket. All MakeBlock structural parts use M4 screws with the holes separated by an 8mm pitch, so I created this generator to generate L-shaped parts with a specified number of holes in the x, y, and z directions (as well as the part thickness). Most printers close inner holes up a bit, so a 2mm radius will create a part where the M4 screws "bite", and 2.4mm radius will create one where they're loose and need a nut. You can change all parameters in Customizer (be sure to scroll down to see them all) or by downloading the .scad file and opening it in OpenSCAD.

The part prints on its side. By default the holes are in the shape of small octagons to allow most extrusion printers to print them accurately, but there is a selector to use circles or hexes.

MakeBlock is a hobby robotics platform which spans from kids learning bots to advanced self-balancing bots, 3-d printers, robot arms, engravers, and more.

If you create a new Thing with Customizer, please name it descriptively.

v2: Replaced hack to get hex holes with actual calculation so it calculates correctly in Customizer. Also, can now set holes to any # of sides (include 0 for circle).
v3: Make corners angled and straight to improve layer adhesion while printing.
v4: Unroll loop to make 8-sided holes fast, clean up code.

Thanks for a useful design. I'm puzzled as to why you'd use hull for the holes rather than, for example:

module oct(wid,rad,height){
rotate([0,0,360/(8*2)]) cylinder(r = poly_r_for_d(wid/2,8), h = height, $fn = 8);

That's what I did at first, but it's a "hack" since it depends on the implementation of $fn=8. Customizer seems to lock that number at a higher value, and anyway you have no control over the polygon's orientation that way.
