Hm I don't get it - what's the purpose of the red part (the "shim" with the two holes in it)? Is it required to work properly?

It is meant for connecting keys which just don't fit into the key holder. Like car keys for example. However, it also might help the other keys to sit more flush, since a part of the zip ties lock goes into the larger hole of the shim. At least with the zip ties I use.

So it is an optional part, but might make things fit and look better depending on various combinations of keys and zip ties.

I added an easy to follow 1-2-3 picture to clarify how to assemble the whole thing. If you use two zipties (printed pieces AAC) use steps 1-1-3-3.

looks great !
just got one question ...how to you cut it one to retrieve your key ?
I prefer asking before putting my key in it ;)

Hi, I just push a knife blade between two keys to cut the zip tie. They are after all meant for single use :) Even if it is possible to stick a toothpick or similar in the tie's lock to disconnect it, it will prove difficult assembling again with the same zip tie since it will be too short to pull through.

Thanks ! Indeed, I used a scalpel in order to cut it, it worked ;)
Just wanted to be sure !
works great (with AAC beause of short zip tie !) ...the only draw back is that I have huge ugly keys ...so it doesn't fit that well !

Oh man this is super sick. im going to give it a shot asap
