This is one big slug and a real pleasure to print and also watch printing.

This is 2 x the original size and he looks great, thanks to the original designer (smwombat) and also scanlime for a really nice high-res model.

Print him hollow and add a few items to make him rattle!

Print him in various colours to stop people from nicking him off your desk.

This one is printed with Faberdashery PLA - in the following colours -
Bling-Bling gold for the base (nice and shiny)
Village green and Squeezed orange with a warning stripe of Fire truck red.

I love this! I can't wait to try this jumbo slug when I have a working printer again.

How do you glue together your PLA parts?

But I also do glue sections of PLA together in other models - for this you can use Superglue, but that's not the best as it leaves white residue.

Bob mentioned in another comment on my parts that UHU 300 plus works well to join PLA

And my preferred method is to use heat, for two flat surfaces use the heated bed and press them together, for anything else a small heat-gun works well.

I have also used Gorilla glue, that works really well for
strength if you need it, but you need to be able to clamp both parts together for many hours.

Yeah I knew how the filament was done, I had just looked at the tentacle and lion and was wondering how best to glue PLA, since it doesn't seem to melt with a solvent. I didn't notice that you weren't printing this in two parts. Well done slipping the rattle in during the print. This is actually how I do the pea in the whistle. Works better than the printed in place and break it loose pea. Thanks for the glue ideas.

It's not glued, he's just changing filament while printing.

The filament is all joined together before the print - See my filament joiner here - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9850http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

You can change colours during a print, but it tends to cause problems with visible joins or blobs. The filament joiner works better.
