This is a lens hood for the canon 50mm 1.8 ||. The original lens hood probably uses the thread on the lens. This lens hood is fitted to the lens using a screw on filter. Most people will have one to protect the lens. The thread of the filter fits exactly through the lens hood, when tightening the filter the lens hood is secured between the lens and the filter.

doesn't fit the lens....

I printed at 101% percent size with ABS, to counteract shrinkage. Had good results. May need some sanding to fit in the filter.

Nice! Is the hood angled correctly for 50 mm? 8-)

The lens hood is not showing up in the picture so that's a plus! But the angle will be different from the original because I haven't got the original for measurements.

You will want to finish the inside of the hood to a flat non-glare finish. You might be able to get it by sanding but you could also paint it or gluing fabric or flocking.
