Simple Modern Paint Brush Stand.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Printed with PLA

I used Simplify 3D for slicing. I did 20% on the fill for the whole project however depending on the speed you print at and the printer you are using the base and the main grid can take 3 hours to print but if sliced just right this can possibly be reduced.

Notes: I printed the cubistand_rod_c.stl vertically on none heated bed with blue painters tape and a light touch of glue stick with no problems.

Steps to glue the parts.

I used RC Model glue to glue the rod to the base waited to dry for a few minutes then glued the main grid to the rod and laid the stand on it's side to let dry and finally I glued the top cap.

Keep in mind one can print 4 rods and have on on each corner. I liked to keep the modern floating look.

just finished this its awesome ty for upload . anyone else notice rod prints big in slic3r and doesn't fit ? in cura rod prints fine .

very great little brush stand, although had to remove the lettering on the side of the post so it would print standing without any issues.

Made it and love it. Thanks muchly

I love this creation i'm looking for an holder for paint tubes oil for example
with an handle that i could carry the paints for my painting class. Hope u know
what I'm talking about. Keep on creating

hi this is good works very well thanks

can you make me a 11x7 plz
im new to 3d printers

I made this and love it! It's excellent :) Really love the design. I used 0.2 layer height and printed it on a raft. The raft took up a lot of space and I don't know if it was necessary. The only thing I would change is make the holes bigger so it can hold mechanical pencils with big grips.

I am happy to hear you like the design :) ... just an FYI ... one of the awesome Thingiverse users has created a customizable version where you can adjust your needed size, please check it out here. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1393686

I printed two rods for extra stability. Looks great on my painting table. Nice model SDMC!

Couple questions before I print. :) Do you build the rods up or lay them flat? If you lay them flat do they need supports? Someone said not to use rafts for the rods so I wondered what direction they built it. Thanks!

I built the rod straight up using no supports or rafts. The bottom part of the rod is designed to slowly expand so supports are not needed. I printed with PLA on a non heated bed with blue painters tape using a few layers of glue stick to hold the base.

According to S3D, an hour difference in printing when laid flat.
