This thing will allow BfB3000 owners to mount a mechanical Z end stop switch on one side of their printer (either left or right) instead of using the original magnetic sensor / bed embedded magnet system.

If (like me) you're annoyed by a non-reapeatable Z offset distance from one print job to another or if you plan to mount a hot bed on your BfB3000, that thing might be usefull.

For a left side mount
  • print "Zlimiter_big_left.stl" + "Zlimiter_small.stl"
  • print "Zlimiter_left.stl" (both parts packed)
For a right side mount

0.25mm layer thickness

Simply clip the small part on the bigger one.
If you printed them with ABS you can glue both parts with acetone if they don't fit well for some reason.

Add a M5 nut into the nut cage at the bottom of the big part and a long M5 bolt going thru it (mine is a 70mm M5 bolt from a Rapman). You can also add a second M5 lock nut (optional).

Optional : if you mount the M5 bolt head-up like I did you could also print and add this other design that I made at its tip : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:68992

Then mount the assembly on either the back-left side or the back-right side of your printer depending on which one you printed. To do so simply clip it on the top frame bar and the side frame bar (see photos).

How I Designed This

I designed it into 2 parts (a big one and a small one) to allow one to mount it either on the left-back side or the right-back side of the machine. Note that the right side parts are untested (I mounted mine on the left side) but I can see no reason why it shouldn't work.

Designing it into a 2-parts assembly also makes each parts stronger.
