Made this extension for the 3DR Solo Smart Drone so that the stock holder would hold my iPad Air 2, and other large tablets like it. Print and enjoy boys!

*Please note that you will need to shave off a bit of plastic from the original 3DR part. For more info on how to do that please click on the link below.***

For the v3 model use M3 X 10mm screws.

Hi conzman. I'm sorry you found that the model doesn't work for you. Did you print it yourself or buy it from Amazon? The people who seem to have issues with this print are the ones who don't shave off the support material from the non-printed bracket. The 3dr part itself needs shaving off near one of the screw holes. Reference this page for more info on how to do that (scroll down):- https://www.everlastconcepts.com/collections/3dr-solo-mods/products/tablet-phone-extension Please let me know if I can help you any more, as the part does work. It just requires you to read the description and modify the original part a bit. All my friends use this part without trouble and I have sold a great deal of them. We'll get you rocking the bigger screen with a little help!

just read you guide. Yes, i didn't shave off the guide areas on, but how do you do that?

I have also uploaded v3 of the model. You can try that one too. It doesn't require support material.

Perfect. You could use a hobby knife, kitchen knife (one for like fruit) or straight-edged razor to cut straight down on the thin plastic support. You don't want to cut the screw mount just remove the most outside part of the angled support. It removes very easily because it is so thin. That will enable the part to slide easily in the bracket. Please let me know if you need any other pictures or have more questions.

This is a great model but I'm finding that the slits are lining up correctly. Also it came out a bit too wide on my printer. I made some adjustments. Also, for the best strength, print this on its side with support or else its easy to break the end off if your part doesn't fit loosely within the enclosure. My first print was a bit off due to not lining up with the screw posts and it being a bit wide so it was a tight fit and when trying to pull it apart the end snapped right off. Print in PETG on its side and this part should last forever. I'm using this for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.

Hey do you have any cut-off issues when using you're iPad air? On my iPad air it puts it into like wide mode and i almost feel it is the same viewing window size as an iPad mini.

Yeah the widescreen mode is a little "too" wide screen. The latest update kinda fixed the blurriness around the edges.

Thanks for the reply. So what do you think. Stick with the air and hope more updates fix the problem or go with the mini. Also how lopsided does the controller feel with an air attached? Ill be printing this soon, great design by the way!

No problem. I can't say whether or not 3DR will make the app any better in regards to the format screen size but if any company would go the extra step to improve it later on, it would be 3DR. Likewise, I don't find it that bothersome but if it bothers you that much I would say just get the mini. The only reason I have an air 2,or an iPad at all for that matter, is for my flight training. Android has the added benefit of having the Tower app if you would ever be interested in flying missioned flights. If you go the android route I suggest getting a Nexus tablet or Galaxy tablet as they are much cheaper than an iPad.

Thanks for the information. Have a good time flying and keep up the good work man!
