First cheers for the response. I will try that. Do I need to expect heat issues with the drivers? Thanks.

So I guess you had problems with the machine skipping steps. Did the replacement solve the problem? I am having the same issue.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi jense, yes, totally,
Now stepping is perfect, and noise divided by two.
If you use the stock controller, you need to change the "torque" settings for the motors ( Vref)
put it simply to the max ( 6 )

Hi acefx, I am trying to replace the extruder stepper motors on my M180. I read on Malyan website that their motor parameter is 0.4A and 24 Ohm phase resistance, which translates to 9.6V per Ohm's Law. Do you know does it matter if I get 12V rated motor or something like high amp and low phase resistance motor? Thanks.!

Well in fact it doesn't matter, the genuine stepper are total crap, so replacing by any other stepper motor will fit.
The only thing you need to do after is to set the torque up, since the new one will tolerate higher amps ( 1.4a max for std nema )

Thank you! How much torque do I need to add in general after I replaced the stepper motors? Thanks.

Which stepper motor did you get? I'm thinking of replacing my stock stepper motor.
