Summary

I bought a chinese replacement fob for my car, however it required a screw-in key blade rather than the slot in plug that I have, so after melting that one to fit, I decided to replicate the missing buttons for my fob instead - I much preferred the sturdiness of the original key.

Leningrad1's Pug buttons were the correct shape, but the step was too high, and the actual button too low, so using his as a template, I modified both buttons to fit my reconditioned fob.

Resolution:

0.01 (or any really)

Infill:

50%

Notes:

I chose a higher in-fill because the buttons will be subjected to a LOT of use over time, and the 20% infill ones I first printed felt a little fragile.

I also went for 4 layers top/bottom and sides to ensure a smooth print.

Fitted first time!

Hi,

Thank you for the work!

Would you mind upload the two parts separately so we can only print the one we need please? (If not I could do it for you if you want to)

Cheers

After some normal use of the key with the replacement buttons I did a print with the buttons lowered 1 mm. They now works better and the key can safely be put in my pocket without unintentionally pressing some button.

Thanks for a nice design! Saved my day!

I printet this, but they are having a hard time popping out again (it keep sending the signal ).I will try to print it again in 99% scale

99% might work, probably will, but check your slicer settings too, too many outlines? What material/settings are you using?
