I was having too much trouble getting the size of the other ones right, so I decided to try a new design.

Made these and found them to work well. I did have some miss-alignment on the layers but they still will work, I will need to find out what is causing the alignment problem. I tried several styles of these 24mm bearing types and this one worked the best for me. Although I did need to change the x and y dimensions to 15.05 from the original which is 14.80. The bearing mount is from "Rainsolutions" here on thingiverse, and it works well with these bearings.

How would abs stand up as I don't have any pla?

I've been using these for almost a year - no issues! There are no ridges and no friction.

Warning all PLA Printed Bushings Have Ridges that create considerable Friction

The inner diameter in the scad file is hard coded as radius 4. I changed the top bit to:

// lm8uu is 8 x 16 x 25

id=8;

lm8uu_id=id-0.8;

lm8uu_od=16.0-1;

lm8uu_length = 25-1;

And the bottom bit to cylinder(r=id/2,....

I can't test, since I don't have all my hardware yet.

LM8UU dimensions are 8mm (id) x 15mm (od) x 24mm (length), which would explain why you are taking 1mm off each size!

Excellent idea, how does it perform in testing? Would imagine you could get pretty decent use out of this as its unlikely to warp. Just oil up the rods and it could last a year or more!

I've been using his originals for a few weeks now, having replaced some really bad steel Chinese LM8UUs with them. They're just about perfect; after at least 30 or 40 hours printing. they're very smooth and there's no slop or looseness at all.

I'll try these next.

they feel better than my original ones with my initial tests, only time will tell however!
