Key Features

Added new motor mount to accommodate the smaller diameter size of the MK8 drive pulley, untested!
Update 4/27/2015
New VertX motor mount, added more hotend mounts. The VertX motor mount is best suited with the Replicator 2 lever extruder. Motor mount has been optimized for flexible filament.

Hey Gyronictonic, I made the mK2 v2 the height is great, I did a filament dry run on 1.75mm hole to determine the distance of the holder hole more accurately. Referencing from my photo http://www.thingiverse.com/makhttp://www.thingiverse.com/mak... It would be almost perfect if the holder is shifted 1mm to the right. Ok, I'm going to 3d model the MK8 so i can visually see the clearance needed. I designed this around the raptor drive gear which is similar to MK7. I'll let you know when I upload the new version

Hi Gyronictonic, I made http://www.thingiverse.com/make:82107http://www.thingiverse.com/mak... your wonderful mount which fits my set up almost perfectly except that I am using a mk8. Would really appreciate if you help me by updating one for mk8 which has a smaller diameter drive gear. Would need to shift to the filament hole by about 3mm left. I am also using e3d v6 which uses a 4mm hole but this is not a issue as i can drill it as long as the hole is updated for mk8. Thanks

Hey Mike, I made some changes to accommodate the MK8. I shifted the motor mounts by 3mm to the right instead which will bring the drive pulley closer to the filament hole. Let me know if this works or not.

I printed it out and the position of the mount is good but I have not test run as the printer is still being built.
If you like to further improve this is to adjust the height of the 3mm motor mount screw holes higher by 1mm as well as the motor rest. When using 4mm hex screw the thickness of the head is 4mm while your motor rest is 3mm high. This also affect the height of the 3mm screw holes as you can see the motor is tilting downwards at the front even though I dremel the 4mm screw hole at the base just below the motor to allow the hex screw to sunken a little and let it flush with the motor rest.

I added ver2 where I raised the motor mount by 1mm. Trying to remember back when I designed this but I think i used M3 Pan Heads since the socket heads were to high. Give this a shot

Hi, any chance of getting this design for 3mm filament?

Could technically drill out the hole larger with a 1/8" bit. I haven't heard any success stories with using 3mm in a direct drive setup. Would probably need a geared motor to make up for the torque

Thanks for your reply. I'm not really fond of drilling something with small margin of error. The thing is, I have seen much stories about 3mm direct drives at all :)

The Vertical X setup is compatible to Mendel frames but I have not tested that theory yet. I noticed you used the extruder for 3mm, how well does it work? I figured it wouldn't have enough torque but would be nice to know since I can revive my 3mm Ubis Hotend.
