3d .stl files for creating an enclosure for the official 7" touch screen for the Raspberry Pi.
There is a separate file for for enclosing the RasPi B module.(or RasPi 2) It is attached with 4 slide on interlocking clips for easy removal for development work. There is sufficient space for attaching an additional hat (such as the sense hat) and for attaching the camera module or accessing the GPIO pins.
I used white 1.75mm ABS filament on a Flashforge Creator Pro printer using a 3mm glass bed. I use a thin film of ABS dissolved in acetone covering the base glass plate to provide good adhesion for the model.
I use Slicr for generating the gcode.
Bed temp initially set to 115 for first layer, then reduced to 110 for subsequent layers. Extruder temp set at 235 for first layer, then 230 for rest.
No support is required for the model. I used 0.2mm layer height, 20% honeycomb infill with 3 solid top and bottom layers for horizontal shells, and 3 perimeters for vertical shells.
The 4 interlocking clips require a fine flat needle file to clean the gap at 2.2mm
The interlock tabs require some strengthening to prevent shearing along the layer. Strengthen by applying a layer of either dissolved ABS in acetone, or cyano-acrylate glue across the inner and outer surfaces. keep it thin though to ensure clearance fit into tab.
Obviously wait till it is dry before assembly.
