After 3 fun days developing and sharing it here on thingiverse. It all has come together.
This projekt startet as a attempt to make a super small wind turbine with only printed part and a nema 17 41nm motor as a generator and the simplest eletronics to charge a 12 V car batterie.
It all worked so heres the final release Look to the instructions for how to make it.
Just added the 25 m/s test in the wind calculator. In teori that is I dont have a wind tunnel at my disposal ...
Update 1 set of wings broke when the daughter showed it off in school. So now the wings are blue. I thing that blue is the new green... So thats fine... They are welded together with a solid iron. And balanced by adding / removing matrials on the 2 wings to get great results Added a small video too at low wind with a lot of cast wind from buildings. It do make power even at this speed.
First I can not be blamed on injures on persons or propperty, use this design carefully.
You need the files
a 8mm45mm Bolt and a lockingnut
A nema 17 motor
4 pc 608 barrings
2 ac dc brigdes or 8 diodes
4 pc 412mm bolts
6 pc 450mm bolts
10 pc 4mm nuts
maby a brass insert
a few wires
a lot of plastic. (about 200g)
There are room for a extra barring in front of the motor mount. But it is not a must.
Print the parts ( I used 0.3mm and 15% infill.) support on. The ROCK with 65% infille !!!!!
Glu or melt with a solider the wings together
mount the motor with 4 412mm bolts
on a m8 rod add bplts 2 608 barrerings and the inserts in the end and mount the house on it.
Make the eletronicts put it in the house and close it with the tip.
mount the rock on the center with 608zz and a 8mm bolt.
Mount the 2 wings and carful measure that they have the right angle and has balance. Then drill the 6 holds for the mounting in the wing.
(teh reason its not drawn is that the balance are important and will variate depending of the material and assemble of the wing.
Then mount the wing on the motor rod. (remember to file down to insure extra grip. place it on a stick or on the roof of a shed.
If You as I had problem connecting the rotorplane with the motor / generator and get it to stay there in a storm....You can use a brass insert. Pic and order number in pictures. Dont know how hard winds it can take sofare 12 m/s is tested.
