Hello guys, I have been fiddling around with a complete cable chain remix that was easy enough to print and looked decent.
I recommend printing the parts in ABS or PETG as PLA is a bit too brittle and you may find links breaks in areas where connection is made. I have the tinkercad link for some of these also (my modified ones) if someone wishes to make adjustments, the links themselves will click together fine and also come apart with a sharp knife to separate the links carefully at their connector mid sections.
I recommend printing the chain link sections with a 7 brim at 200microns, the box connector bit will need internal supports obviously.
For printing the main cable/tube collar system you may find it difficult to keep from lifting off the platform as its large, so try a DOUBLE layer brim of 7-12 and be sure you nozzle is up pretty close platform.
- For the remaining parts please refer to Coberdas source (rings and tube screws).
Note: You may notice the cable link on each end is angled, this is intentional to compensate for slack that occurs due to weight of the whole thing, honestly this whole chain took me WAY to long to modify and get right, I went through several iterations before falling on this one!
