With small printer like Huxley there's no point trying to bolt large filament spool at the side.. so I made this simple self-standing thingy. Originally I hoped the leg-parts alone would be enough, but this spool is a bit too large so I had to design those raiser feet.

I have used this with Ultimaker 5Lbs spool (4043D natural) and will make adjustments for others as needed.

Print two each, also have two bearing inserts http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7475 and two 608:s.. Some 20cm of threaded rod (mine was M5) and washers+nuts.

Nice design! I was wondering how solid these need to be printed to hold a large spool of filament from Ultimaker. Do you thing 50% infill when printing with PLA would be strong enough?
