3DP MakeBlock XYP (plotter/drawbot) full upgrade.

I wasn't happy with the carriage design of the MakeBlock XY Plotter (drawbot) so I took it upon myself to redesign the X & Y axis carriages but I didn't stop there! I basically made my own version of an XY Plotter utilizing 3D printed parts versus extruded aluminum blocks bolted together.
Now there are just 24 (or 28 is using 3d printed pulley holders) 3D printed parts coupled with the Makeblock parts: 8mm bearings/holders (6 total), 4x 8mm linear rods, 4x 18t MXL pulleys (or possibly GT2?), 10x shaft bearings, 3x 3mm OD x 40mm length rod (makeblock provides 56mm length), 1x 3mm OD x 510mm length rod, 3 drive belts provided by Makeblock, some 3/8" (9.5mm) wooden dowels/rod and a handful of 3mm nuts and bolts.

This upgrade will bring the working area from 310mm × 390mm up to 340mm x 400mm which I was very happy with. (roughly 16" x 13.5") Plus with a vertical pen lift mechanism, the drawing precision has increased tremendously.

I would like to find silent/near silent micro-servo's as the servo supplied is far from quiet.

Firstly, this is an incredible upgrade from the images I can see and the parts I have printing. I am using the Makeblock for a final year engineering project and have a custom tool-head installed on the stock block.

I do have one query though, how many of each part should I be printing? xD
I can see that I will need multiple belt clamps, anything else that requires multiple prints?

are those nema 17 motors? I would like to set something like this on top of a frame and mount a hot end to it.

Affirmative, those are indeed Nema17 steppers/ With the addition of a Z-axis, this could easily be converted into a 3d printer!

Are you willing to sell this unit? Or willing to commission one for purchase.

Shoot me a message with what you are looking for and we can work something out. That is partly why I publish my designs etc.
